追尋
By: Yen-j/嚴爵
Album: Thanks Your Greatness

Translated intro from the lyric book:
"When I first left school to chase my own dream, I turned my feelings of wanting to pursue freedom into a song to express what I felt at the time. It's a song full of hopes and visions for the future. Combining strings and jazzy piano, with a rhythm like a train, I sing to myself the words that I also want everyone else to hear."

zhi shi, da jia gen wo shuo, da jia dou quan wo shuo
It's just that, everyone's told me; everyone's advised me

qian wan bu yao zhe me zuo, pa wo zhi hou cheng dan bu qi hou guo
That I absolutely shouldn't do this, for fear I can't afford the consequences

@4$^!@#$%^&... wo, wo dou ting bu dong
blah blah blah blah... I don't hear any of it

yun qi dou cha bu duo, wo men na me duo na me duo hou guo
I've more or less had some luck; We had so many, so many consequences

yi qie de jie guo bu shi wo men ke yi zhang wo
We couldn't grasp all the outcomes

dan ruo ni qia wo, wo zan shi bu zai jia, oh
But if you're trying to contact me, I'm not at home at the moment

yin wei wo zhui xun zi you
Because I'm pursuing freedom

zhui xun zi wo, jiu shi zhui xun zi ji
Pursuing myself; I'm pursuing my own

zhui xun zhi ji de peng you
Pursuing close friends

zhui xun zhi hou, zhi hou, d'er zi, d'er zi, zen me guo
Pursuing what those days afterward will be like

zhui xun le huo
Pursuing life

Woh...

shei shuo ai qing, shi ye, jia ting bu xing man fen, yin wei hui qian se
Who said love, a career, a family can't get 100%, because they'll mix

wo shuo yu yu xiong zhang yu lie ren neng gou tong shi jian de
I say the fish and the bear and the hunter can all be had at the same time**[See note below]

yu ke yi jian de, xiong zhang yao yong dun de,
The fish can be pan fried, the bear paw stewed,

lie ren ruo shi nu de hen ke ai jiu yong lai ai de
And if the hunter's a cute girl, she can be loved

liu lang zhe me jiu dou mei you fa xian wo zhe me duo, zhe me you de peng you
Having wandered so long, I never realized I had so many, such excellent friends

jia ren dou zhe me gou yi si, wo zen me shuo lian bu xiu
My family means so much to me; I'm not ashamed to admit it

yin wei wo zhi qian dou mei gan shou
Because before I'd never felt it

wo hao kuai le, zai ci ke
I'm so happy at this moment

duo nian hou de wo zhao, bu zhao de dao wo yao de, hai shi zao jiu de dao
Years after this pursuit, whether I don't find what I want or if I'll have gotten it long before

dao na shi hou, cai zhi dao guo cheng bi jie guo zhong yao
At that time, I'll have realized that the process is more important than the result

yin wei bu zhi dao, yin wei mei ling wu dao
Because I don't know; Because I haven't comprehended it

suo yi wo zhui xun zi you
So I'm pursuing freedom

zhui xun zi wo, jiu shi zhui xun zi ji
Pursuing myself; I'm pursuing my own

zhui xun zhi ji de peng you
Pursuing close friends

zhui xun zhi hou, zhi hou, d'er zi, d'er zi, zen me guo
Pursuing what those days afterward will be like

zhui xun zi you
Pursuing freedom

zhui xun zi wo, jiu shi zhui xun zi ji
Pursuing myself; I'm pursuing my own

zhui xun zhi ji de peng you
Pursuing close friends

zhui xun zhi hou, zhi hou, d'er zi, d'er zi, zen me guo
Pursuing what those days afterward will be like

zhui xun le huo
Pursuing life

**Translator's Note:
This is an allusion to the story about (obviously) a bear, a fish, and a hunter. There are different versions of the story, but it seems to be that a hunter happens upon the bear and fish but can't catch them both and has to choose between the two. The moral is that there are some things in life that you have to choose between--you can have one but not the other. Here, Yen-j seems to be saying that if you work it out right, you can have both the fish and the bear.....and even the hunter!
